New Delhi based interior designer, Gourka Anand, shares her views and experiences as a professional with Houzify. Here’s what she had to say!
Interior Designing does not only mean designing a house or a workplace. Nor does it simply mean using a place judiciously. It is a job for a true owner or a dreamer. In other words, it serves you to make someone’s dream place; a house that someone bought from a builder converted into a home with all the vibes and power. A home is a place where families look forward to coming back at the end of a day and staying there with all the positivity in the world. So, it has to be an ideal place filled with positivity and radiance.
I recently designed a duplex at Mansarover Garden for a very special client.
The duplex itself speaks its story. It was done with great patience and love for a family of 5, living up there with love and warmth for each other. The family itself is an epitome of modern day living.
Fulfilling all the needs and requirements of the family was a true wish that I, personally, took very seriously. Listening to each member’s requirement and planning each room’s every corner with varying needs was a task but I loved doing each bit of it.
In love with fashion myself, I did the project with love for her outfits and each dress that she had ever served me with. I delivered all my patience towards her project too. This design included a complete analysis of Vaastu and some changes were made according to Feng Shui.
The client is a very dear friend who designed every outfit of mine with great zeal and interest. So that was my true duty to do it for her as well.
I don’t see designing houses only as a profession. Rather, I do it to fulfill my client’s dreams.
