After relocating to Bangalore, Komal started The Pink Chair – a store carrying a variety of quirky, bold armchair designs; perfect furniture couture.
Selling a couch over a cup of coffee, Komal offers affordable furniture in a style she defines as quirky and bold. She explains, “The whole idea was to mix-and-match. Even make the back of the chair different! I have done enough research, while working, about patterns and trends. Customers get bored of similar designs. Armchairs not only have to match decor but also the personality of the customer.”
The online portal showcases armchairs, sofas, wing chairs, accent seating, benches and ottomans. Her latest collection recently launched on Dekorizzle, features furniture specially designed for children. The collection features a scaled down wing chair, ideal for 3 to 7-year-olds, done up with refreshing green and vibrant butterfly-print fabrics.
The arm chairs are priced at Rs. 21,500 and the wing chairs are Rs.29,000.
Komal’s advice to home enthusiasts: First go by the theme you have in mind, then your comfort levels. Most customers who come to me have a very clear thought process. People need to know what kind of look they want in their chairs. Chairs have to blend in with the personality of the house.
